Soap for Soldiers
2/4 Update

On Friday, 2/1, we sent 130 packages of toiletries to Grim Troop. Thanks to all who contributed their money and their time!

Family and Friends,

When my friend Bill sent me the video attached here, I was really moved. About the same time, my friend Janet, who has a son currently serving in Iraq, told me that there are men and women serving our country who are lacking in basic toiletries and have no way of purchasing them. I shared both the video and the news with several other friends and we all felt called to action. I hope you do, too.

For $50 (including $11 for packaging and shipping costs), we can send a soldier a pair of Army socks and the following:

· Deodorant soap

· Acne wash

· Mouthwash

· Hand sanitizer

· Shaving gel

· Disposable razors

· Sunscreen

· Toothpaste

· Toothbrush

· Shampoo

· Lip balm

· Deodorant

My friend’s unit has 130 soldiers, so that’s $6,500. We will start there. As we collect money, we will send packages to more soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.

When our efforts are no longer necessary, we will stop fundraising and distribute any toiletries and cash on hand to nonprofit organizations serving the homeless.

Please help us in our Soap for Soldiers initiative:

Whether you can fund part of a package or 10,000 packages, we need your help! If you can’t contribute yourself, help us spread the word to those who can.

Make all checks payable to Soap for Soldiers and mail to Carolyne Fox, 3514 Ellies Lane, Manvel, TX, 77578. 100% of the funds collected go for toiletries, packaging and shipping. All labor is donated.
