Optimizing your chances of being funded by the NSF

Funding for Statistics at the National Science Foundation has changed
drastically in the last few years. Approximately 50% of the funds currently
made available to statisticians,  are made available through the Statistics
Program in the Division of Mathematical Sciences. The rest is distributed
through inter-disciplinary programs and competitions that pair Mathematics
or Statistics with another Science. The latter may be Geology, Biology in
the Environment, Environmental Science, Physics, Chemistry, Astronomy, Polar
research, etc. I shall present the essence of these programs, direct
statisticians to the relevant web sites, and mostly answer questions from
the audience.
