Welcome to my Research Website.
Here you will find information regarding research
projects that I am or I have been working on. Below you can find a
short description for each of them. The links at your left take you to
the webpage for each project.
More information about me can be found in my Personal Home Page.
Texas Children's Hospital Project
(Fall 2007 - Spring 2008)
Dose Individualization for Anti-Cancer Therapy
(Summer Internship, 2007)
I worked for Dr. Rosner who is Professor of Biostatistics at the MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Rosner and other collaborators developed a bayesian
population pharmacokinetic model that allows them to compute the
optimal dose for a given patient
of the anti-cancer drug Busulfan so that a certain target response
is achieved. One of the main features of this approach is that
borrow strength from two related previous studies by building an ANOVA
like structure over the random effects distributions. The prior
distribution in this model is taken as a dependant dirichlet processes
(DDP). Under this project I extended the model so that continuous and discrete covariates are considered. My activities also included the translation of the code
from Splus into C because the time to get simulations form the
posterior distribution was prohibitive under the former.
