It is possible to use the department computers remotely. This requires getting an off-campus dialup account via owlnet (a charon account). Details are available from Consulting Center (103 Mudd, x4983), but you can start by going to the Rice Online Application Webpage http://apply.rice.edu and following the directions, choosing the dial-up account.
