Che Lena Smith is a third-year student at Spelman College, where she is studying mathematics. She has always been interested in problem-solving and finding ways to apply her knowledge of various subjects. Che is a member of the National Tutoring Association, and works part time as a professional tutor. She also volunteers her tutoring talents to her peers in the Atlanta University Center. Also, Che currently holds leadership positions in several campus organizations, including the Spelman College Math Club(Vice-President) and the National Society of Black Engineers(Academic Excellence Chairperson). She also has a passion for photography, and does work both in front of and behind the camera; she is a member of a group of budding photographers in the Atlanta University Center. Che plans to attend graduate school in pursuit of a PhD in mathematics and/or statistics. She is currently unsure of her career plans, but Che is certain that she will be innovative and successful in any endeavor.
