I am a senior at Allegheny College. I am double majoring in
Mathematics and Philosophy. This year I will be taking Introduction to
Analysis, Real Analysis, Complex Analysis (hopefully), and a senior project
on the Kakutani Fixed Point Theorem. I am involved in many organizations on
campus. I am President of Pi Mu Epsilon (Mathematics Honor Society),
President of Dimensions (the Mathematics club), Vice-President of Allegheny
Student Government, Resident Advisor, member of Phi Sigma Tau (Philosophy
Honor Society), member of Philosophical Forum (Philosophy club), member and
scholarship chair of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, member of M.A.S.V. (Men
Against Sexual Violence), member of F.A.C.E. (Feminism Amplified, Coalition
for Equality), Treasurer of Newman (on campus Church group), and I am also
involved in various intramural sports. After I graduate from college I
would like to attend graduate school (preferably in Pure mathematics,
although I'm not positive as of right now what I'd like to do specifically).
On a lighter note, I enjoy playing basketball, lifting, football,
obviously math, and various other sports/games. I guess I'm known for just
being an all around nice guy. If you haven't gotten accepted to a research
program and are looking to find a good one, I would have to recommend Rice
University. The program is fantastic and Professor Rojo is both extremely
intelligent and nice. I wasn't even considering Rice as a graduate school
until I got involved with this program.
