Hi, I'm Diana Yen. I'm from Houston, and I just finished my freshman year at
Rice University. I plan to major in a few areas, but my main area of interest
is mathematical economic analysis, while I'm also pursuing statistics,
environmental engineering, and managerial studies (phew, got that out in one
line). My future is open, so I don't know whether I will pursue graduate
studies in economics or go to law school or start as an entrepreneur - it's
still totally open! Other than studying long long nights alone in my room, I
do have hobbies. For relaxation, I enjoy playing the piano, be it Chopin,
Bach, Brahms, pop music, as long as it sounds good, I will play it! I also am
the president of Rice Go Club, so I'm also continually practicing my skills at
Go. When I have a lot of free time, I like to engage in playing
RPGs, watching anime, or reading manga. I also like drawing and photography.
I'm also good at tennis. Now, I'm taking this awesome opportunity to study
statistics at Rice this summer under Dr. Rojo's RUSIS program, and I'm currently
working on how to compare portfolios following prospect theory and stochastic
dominance.
