Welcome to the exam! There are four questions to the exam. Some general comments - the exam is a bit long, but fairly direct. Don't spend time looking for trick questions, as I wasn't trying to ask any :). Before doing any of the exam, read through it and make sure that you understand what I'm asking for. Since I didn't have a Beta key to work with, a capital B denotes beta, and a lower case b denotes the corresponding estimate. For the various questions, you should include the code you use (if this is simply a call to an S-Plus function like lm, it's ok to just show the call, but if you use a function of your own devising you should include the code). You may use code that you have written for previous homeworks. Each question also includes a verbal component. You should be able to state clearly what it is that you are doing and why; numbers are not enough to make clients happy. The exam is open-book, open-note, open-homework, and open-computer. The only things that are not resources this time are other people. If you have questions you may contact me or Will. Have fun, and I'll see you Thursday.
