change

to
  {"{vv~}{ll}{, jj}{, f{.}.}" }
[This removes space between initials, but only for first author]

and change
  { "{f.~}{vv~}{ll}{, jj}" }
to
  { "{f{.}.~}{vv~}{ll}{, jj}" }
[This removes space between initials for all authors]


The other thing that needs doing is to make 'et al.' appear after _first_ author if more than 3 authors.

Accomplished this by adding a large if$ block
