Announcements

12/15/08: EXAM 2. The second examination is takehome and will be available Thursday, December 4 and will be due to my office DH 2098 NLT Friday, December 12 at 5 p.m. The test will cover chapters 6-10, and will be closed book/no internet. Handwritten notes are permitted, but not printed notes or text materials. Grades are now available here.  Solutions will be available on the Owlspace Website when everyone has taken the exam.

11/19/08: HOMEWORD LOAD. Beginning with Homework 8, students may select only 7 problems to work from those listed below. Please indicate on your paper which 7 problems you have decided to work.

10/24/08: Oops! www.fivethirtyeight.com is the right website!   NOT the one I put on the board in class.

10/16/08: EXAM 1. The first examiniation is scheduled for October 21, in class. A review session will be held in class on October 16. A solution to problem 5 is (less some algebra) here. We will also go over problems from the homework so bring these if you want to review.

9/24/08: Homeworks will be PLEDGED. You may still work together in groups if you wish. See details on the syllabus. Due to continuing problems in Hurricane Ike's aftermath, Homework 3 may be turned in Tuesday, 9/30 if you need more time.

9/18/08: HURRICANE IKE. We ARE having class today (Thursday 9/18). We hope you have power resumed as soon as possible. New homework schedule will be announced in class 9/18.
