A legitimate statistical hypothesis is a claim about one
or more population parameters (p. 311). Statements
(b), (c), (e) are about random variables or their realized
values, and so are not legitimate statistical
hypotheses. Statements (a), (d), and (f) are legitimate
statistical hypotheses.
