Required Text: INTRODUCTION to the PRACTICE of STATISTICS, by Moore & McCabe.

You will also need to purchase a calculator. It is recommended that at a minimum your calculator have the capability to compute mean, standard deviation, correlation, and regression. It should be possible to get such a calculator for under $20.

Catalogue Description: Introduction to statistical methods, with emphasis on techniques. Includes computer-assisted data analysis in lab sessions.


Grading:

32% Homework: assigned approximately weekly on Monday, due following Wednesday, 9 days later.

12% Each Midterm (Total is 24%): Tentatively Feb. 11 and March 18, in class.

24% Final: during the finals period.
